Suspension and Solar Array
The Sunsetters have been working hard over the past few months getting the car refurbished and ready for the race. We recently had the mounting brackets for our front suspension machined at NDSCS in Whapeton; they also did some welding on our rear suspension arms. Work on soldering the array will begin soon, as we just got our solar cells in.
We made a new top shell for the car last fall, check out this page for more pictures and info.
The qualifier is approaching very quickly and there is still a lot of work to be done. We're looking for people with an interest in the team to help with general construction and electrical work. If you have basic mechanical skills or you're good with a soldering iron, we need your help - see the Joining Us section for more information or contact Joe Knutson. If you don't think you have the skills or experience to help out on the mechanical or electrical teams, but still want to be a part of the team let us know and we'll try to find a place for you on the team. New members that are active, and show commitment to the team may get a chance to go along on the rayce this summer.
